Silver and Glass

Rough wooden beams
Hung on a wall;
A reminder of blood
Shed for us all.

Set on one side
Are silver and glass;
No future glory,
No escape from the past.

On the side opposite,
Its identical twin;
Displaying results
Of unconfessed sin.

These are symbolic
But also proclaim,
Depending on your focus,
Either glory or shame.

Look to the center
And Christ you will see
But shifted a fraction
Yourself, in place of a thief.
